School Assemblies and Residencies

School assembly programs feature a medley of spirited drumming inspired by some of the most colorful and dramatic Japanese festivals and introduce children to the myths and culture they arose from. Bringing elements of history, tradition, rhythm concepts, and language to life in an interactive performance, audience participation and engaging rhythm drills are featured.

Residencies offer further opportunities to introduce and develop traditional Japanese concepts while learning basic rhythm skills, counting, collaboration, listening and perseverance as students master rhythms and a core composition.
